Thanks Rob.

I was conscious of having a go at ITV, but anything I have seen of their output over the last six months or so has got progressively worse. I don't watch much TV anyway, but tend to series link those things that look promising. I have been watching BBC's programme called the Silence. Far more tricky and controversial subject matter, but they have carried it off so far with beautiful photography and immense acting from all of those in it. The gap s ever wider and it seems to me that only BBC, C4 on some occasions and Sky can produce anything worth watching.

On the footie, my daughter had the ITV coverage on of the World Cup, so I told her off and changed the channel for her! The ITV coverage was hammy, amateurish throughout and is proof positive that quality is what people want, not sensationalist crap.

A couple of your recent posts have mentioned the downward spiral in quality of ITV programming - I cannot agree more. An interesting case-in-point was the simulcast of the World Cup final on the BBC and ITV. 17m+ tuned into BBC compared to 3m on ITV. Not only is their quality of programmes utter trash, but also the quality of their broadcasting - I'm glad the British public recognise this fact.

Sorry, but I didn't see Ashes to Ashes but I agree she certainly tries a bit hard on this one!

Jonathon Ross to ITV is a really obvious move. He can carry on being more mainstream, a bit more 'shocking' and now he has pretty much sold his soul, he can cash in over the next few years whilst his career tanks.

Great artists and brands constantly reinvent themselves to stay fresh and relevant. My gut feeling with Jonathon Ross is that he will trot out the same old shite with slightly less passion than he did for the BBC.

Just like Adrian Chiles
Des Lynam
Paul O'Grady
Christine Bleakley
Steve Rider
Murray Walker

Did any of them move for 'creative' reasons or for money?

That move seems like a pretty sure way to end your career to me.
